Lovin' that Boyish Charm - Modesty Theory
Do you like this story?
When it comes to makeup, I like to wear none at all and just use moisturizer or if I've got some time I'll put on some tinted moisturizer, blush, lip balm, and eyeliner if I'm feeling extra special. I guess you can say I like to keep it really natural and really simple. Let my inner beauty shine through kind of thing. I don't really see the point of wearing a ton of makeup 24/7 and I don't like the idea of looking amazing with a ton of makeup on (cause makeup can make anyone look amazing when done right!) and then looking not as amazing without...

With this in mind, I was ecstatic to see Chloe's SS 2011 line! Not only am I loving the simplicity and nude color palette (with a pop of red at that!), but I'm loving the makeup! and I don't say that often. It's clean, it's simple, it's like the "nude shoe" of makeup. This style of makeup goes w/ anything, and I think will look great on any skin tone. I loveee all things menswear inspired (it may not have been apparent yet, but it's true!) and this makeup look embodies that. And I also love how the boyish makeup and the side part hairstyle is offset by the understated femininity of Chloe's pieces. Here's a few of my fav looks:
and I was totally inspired by Chloe's collection:
headscarf/hijab: N/A
ruffled tunic shirt: Walmart
sweater vest: Mandee
belt: Mandee
boyfriend jeans: Gap
nude flats!: Mandee
I used basically the same colors as above (nudes/whites/with a pop of red!) and I had to roll up the jeans a bit cause I wore them so low. I chose nude scarf/shoes so they wouldn't take attention away from the outfit because I think a lot is going on already. I chose this shirt specifically because of the floral print and the ruffles which add some femininity. I topped it off with a sweater vest for length and a bit more cover. I wore this to work the other day and loveeddd it! Soo comfy, I only wish I had worn a different belt so I didn't have to keep pulling my pants up all the time!
